An Unfair Advantage

This work is inspired by the 2010 CoolClimate Art Contest at DeviantArt. Participants must contribute a work that speaks to the impact of climate change, whether that be clean energy, self-sufficency or pollution.
This image immediately came to me when I read through the contest specifics. I live in the midwest and unfortunately mutated frogs are far too common. It is unclear if the chemicals in their environment are causing this, the frogs immune systems aren't as healthy because of the exposure to pollutants or some of both. It is a very sad reality.
I personally STRONGLY dislike chainsaws, so I've chosen to represent man and machine as the "bad guy." It is man plus machine that has altered our ecosystems to such an extent that we have unknowingly (and sometimes knowingly) caused these such tragedies to our fellow earthly inhabitants.
PS: I chose to model the frog off of the amazing wood frog, who can actually freeze solid, thaw and "come back to life!"
PSS: I will also be submitting it to "SaveTheFrogs.com."

Work In Progress: Professional Black Widow
Here's the piece I've been working on today. Unfortunately, I'm out of dark copics, so it's on hold for now. (The other two works from yesterday are on hold too because of this.)
This nasty girl is ready to strike! She came to me in a vision last night while talking with my hubby. He was talking about being in a rut; it brought to mind his friend saying years ago I had trapped him (by being pregnant.) Here's this professional widow, working it.
